The first reports on the cultivation, in the lowland of Parma, of the Fortana del Taro vine, native to this area and which today boasts the title of Typical Geographical Indication (IGT), date back to this century.
In the early 16th century, Agostino Gallo composes an essay in which he describes the productive and organoleptic characteristics of Fortana, indicating it as perfectly compatible with the local culinary art.
The origins of Cantine Bergamaschi date back to the beginning of the century, when Mr. Demetrio Bergamaschi, the Grandfather of the current owners, buys a tavern starting the production of wine according to the traditional techniques used in this area.
